Iron Hub Winery and Vineyards

Iron Hub Winery is a family-owned winery in Amador County’s Shenandoah Valley, established in 2016 by Tom and Beth Jones and their children- including son Spencer who joined his father as a winemaker and received his master’s degree from UC Davis’s prestigious Viticulture and Enology Department. The winery is known for its commitment to creating elegant wines with an authentic legacy, utilizing granitic loam soil from the estate vineyards, and a hands-on approach to winemaking from tending the grapes to crafting the wines. The Jones family named the winery Iron Hub to reflect the artistry and beauty of hand-forged tooling of days past, and the winery’s welcoming atmosphere. The tasting room opened in December 2017, and offers a variety of white and red wines, deli items, and outdoor patio seating with Sierra mountain and vineyard views. Tasting is open Thursday through Monday, and reservations are recommended.

Considered some of the best views in Plymouth, Iron Hub has a large patio with views of the vineyard. I think one of our favorite things about Iron Hub is when tasting, the staff goes into great detail over the history of the grapes and methods to create the wine. Iron hub is the place you go to if you want the Napa experience but the feel of Amador, Iron Hub is the place to visit.
